Paris - It's not that big - The Run Around

What can I say? Third time is a charm! Paris was great, and the Parisians were so nice. Unbelievable or? Oh, and to top it all off, we got a great, private room, breakfast included, in a hotel for less than Amsterdam. It was 6:00 am when we got off the bus and were met by a man selling rooms who said we could check in immediately – We were stunned. I guess sometimes doing things on the fly works out!

That's the Mona Lisa in the Background!
Kat in the Peter Paul Rubens room. HUGE!
So we hit all the major spots here too, in our 1 night, 2 full day stay. After an early check in to our hotel - 8am- and a nap (though the drizzle of morning rain) and a shower, we were pounding the pavement by noontime. It was the first Sunday of the month, the free day at the Louve. The place was packed but we managed to run through it (covered about 6 miles indoors) in 3 ½ hours. Literally, it was like the Bay to Breakers, just as crowded. We went to the Arch de Triumph, climbed to the top of the Eiffel Tower, saw Trocedero, visited Scare Coeur, walked through Notre Dame, to name a few highlights. We rode the bus to see more of Paris, than you get on the Metro, and ate crepes at a street cafĂ© in a really cool neighborhood. We drank champagne under the Eiffel Tower at the 5,000 lights, lit up the structure for a 5 minute, on the hour show. It was grand. Did I mention, the croissants, yummy, and Paris had the best 5 Euro falafels in Europe! Best French food I've eaten :)

That evening, after a quick stop at the boulongerie for a croissant or two to go, we hustled to the bus with no time to spare for an all night bus ride to Munich! Yeah, another night's sleep on the bus.
